Winners Circle Stock Take, Monday morning 8am

Every Monday after playing football and getting drunk on the Sunday, the winners team of counters would embark on the monumental task of countingcuddly toys (plush) little bits of crappy plastic and hi-fi's which cost loads (well sometimes if they were there !!) For the time that I was there, Monday morning was probably the worse time that you could have. The routine of getting in for 8.30am every Monday knowing that you wouldn't finish it until about 3pm if you were lucky was the biggest downer of the week, plus you would know that because you were either still too pissed or tired last week you would find stuff that you missed or just couldn't be bothered to count ( 10,000 jumping rabbits!!) and when you took the report up to Ed he would always check to make sure that nothing was wrong but there was always something as if you've looked and a panda's hidden round the corner saying 'you ain't finding me you twat !!!' . then we finally figured out that if you counted most of it the night before, it wouldn't take as long. problem was it took us1and a half years to work this one out! After that there were no real probs and everything was done by 12 or 1 at the very latest.
There was one time when Ian took over from Aron he was trying to get involved as much as possible so thinking he was doing the right thing he turned the PC off which had all the stock take work stored on it. I had been in since 5 putting all the info on and the time was about 11 so BANG there it was no stock take. I said I would stay behind to re-enter everything that had come of the PC only to find that the bins had been taken out, ten seconds later jumping inside the compactor (which was nice) I found them and the stock take got done on time , but it just shows how managers can sometimes mess up by trying to help (no offence Ian !)
The best time I ever had was probably going to London for the world trade fair with games and suppliers which was sorted out for us by Aron.

The Techs probably remember this but turning up in earls court and playing every new game that was coming to England in the next year was amazing plus we didn't have to pay ! (The Techs loved it so much that were going again this year!-Tom)

Giggsy.

The Tech Favorite, Sunday Morning 8am CHIP PULL

Oh how all of us in the tech department loved doing the chip pull, now for you who never saw this being done, It quite simply evolved us to count every coin in every coin action game then restock the machines with a specified amount, all this and the usual paperwork that came with it would have to be done by 12 for opening! Quite how in the 2 years it was open we always managed to complete this was amazing. Sunday morning getting up at 7 to be at work for 8 was awful. Not least if you'd been on the piss the night before, it wasn't unknown to go straight from a club to Work. If anyone thinks this was fun, well yes some times it could be, this would be the times when McDonald came to visit with his fine breakfasts(very frequent) or when pranks were played, like condoms in Martins coffee!
The payback resulted in the victim having a tampon in his the following week! I miss the fun that came with the Chip Pull but not the Work itself oh no matey!
